Welcome back!  We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to start the school year.  We promise to work hard every day to give your child the best educational experience possible.

Our staff has been working throughout the summer planning and preparing to make this an incredible year for your child.  We have many exciting changes coming to Merrillville Intermediate School.

W.I.N. (Whatever I Need) Instructional Focus Time

Our daily schedule now includes a 60 minute block of time called W.I.N. Time.  During this time, students will receive additional support and enrichment in the areas of ELA and Math. These flexible groups will meet every day except Thursday.  There will be an alternating schedule by week for ELA and Math. Students will be grouped based on i-Ready, SRI, and standards assessments. W.I.N. will formally begin in September after teachers have had a chance to assess students to determine their needs.
