Fieler Elementary School won more than $8,800 worth of school supplies from Enchanted Backpack.
Though each school can only win once, this is the second time Principal LaFonda Morris has won for her school. She won last year as principal of Pierce Middle School, receiving $8,500 worth of supplies.
The organization arrived with two vans filled with boxes of supplies, including items such as coloring books, notebooks, construction paper, copy paper, markers, pencils, pens, folders, crayons, dry erase markers and erasers, glue sticks, pens, pocket folders, pencil sharpeners, toothpaste, gloves and hats, sneakers, socks, shoes, recess equipment, incentive items and much more.
Volunteers from the school and the school corporation helped wheel in the supplies using hand carts.
Enchanted Backpack is a 501(c)3 organization in Illinois that was started with the belief that all children deserve to have the tools they need to learn and excel and that all teachers deserve to have the support and materials to make their classrooms exciting learning centers.
Miller Elementary School also won last February, making Fieler the third winning school in the corporation.
